Stoke-on-Trent City Council is set to appoint two senior managers on six-figure salaries to run its adult social care department.

The authority is in the process of recruiting a new corporate director of adult social care and all age commissioning, as well as a new director of adult social care.

Peter Tomlin and Lee Calvert, who currently hold the roles, are leaving the council to join other local authorities.

The new corporate director will be paid between £147,524 and £162,066. They will be in charge of 950 people and a budget of around £165 million a year.

According to the job advert, the council is looking for a 'confident, values-led leader' with a 'proven track record' in adult social care, health integration, or related fields.

Members of the human resources panel are set to carry out the final interview for the position on Monday, February 16.

The new director of adult social care, who will report to the corporate director, will receive a salary of between £111,136 and £116,521.

They will have a 'particular leadership focus on supporting the city's residents to fulfil their potential and supporting vulnerable people in our communities to live their lives well'.
