Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent residents experienced the biggest earthquake to hit the UK in two months yesterday (28 June).

The British Geological Survey (BGS), says the epicentre was in Tean, Staffordshire, but was felt up to 20km (12.5 miles) away.

BGS said: "We have received several reports from residents throughout the region, mainly from within around 20 km of the epicentre.

"Reports described "an initial rumbling then a bang", "felt more like a shunt, like something had hit something" and "the windows and doors all rattled"."

The 3.3-magnitude earthquake hit at 8.21pm.
