A local care home group, Borough Care, has launched a new initiative to provide emergency toiletries for hospital patients.
Residents across Borough Care's Staffordshire homes, including Hen Cloud House, Buxton Road, Leek and Shoemaker Place, The Fillybrooks, Stone, have been putting together hospital admission packs to support local patients who arrive at hospital without basic toiletries
Sharon Parkes, Customer Relationship Manager at Borough Care, explained that on some occasions nurses have paid for patients' basic necessities out of their own pockets.
Sharon said: "These packs will be delivered to out wonderful local hospitals and given to patients who arrive without basic toiletries, which sadly occurs with increasing regularity, whether due to emergency admissions or the increasing number of people living in poverty.
"We're committed to supporting patients in our local hospitals during difficult moments, and I am keen to keep this initiative ongoing.
"If you would like to contribute, donations are warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated."
Anyone wishing to donate toiletries can email Sharon at [email protected].
