Coopers Croft Spring Fayre

Coopers Croft Care Home, in Hartshill, will host a Spring Fayre on Friday 5 April (Coopers Croft).

There will be a huge range of local craft and gift stalls, special guests from Hanley Community Fire Station, delicious homemade refreshments and lots of fun and games.

Red, Amber, Green: Transporting the City

The exhibition takes place at Goods Yard, Stoke, throughout April (Dust Rising).

Dust Rising presents an exhibition of contemporary visual arts highlighting the Signal Box, Goods Yard and exploring the heritage and future of our city.

The takeover runs Thursday to Sunday through April and features newly commissioned work from ten artists with links to the city alongside selected work from three Staffordshire University graduates.

'Red Amber Green: Transporting the City' will explore the history of the site, the transformation underway and its unique location at the point where the canal, rail and road converge.

Stoke Cult Film Club – Escape from New York (15)

Escape from New York will be shown at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery on Friday 5 April (Potteries Museum).

Escape from New York (cert 15), is being shown at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery as part of a film club.

In 1997, a major war between the United States and the Soviet Union is concluding, and the entire island of Manhattan has been converted into a giant maximum-security prison. When Air Force One is hijacked and crashes into the island, the president (Donald Pleasence) is taken hostage by a group of inmates. Snake Plissken (Kurt Russell), a former Special Forces soldier turned criminal, is recruited to retrieve the president in exchange for his own freedom.
