Tales in the Park | Hanley Park | Fri 1 August

Local families are invited to enjoy summer storytelling as the National Literacy Trust in Stoke's 'Tales in the Park' series returns to Stoke-on-Trent this summer. 

Tales in the Park will be at Hanley Park on Friday 1 August From 11am – 3pm.

Visitors will be treated to storytelling, pop-up sports, crafts, circus skills, a bouncy castle, and so much more.

Smithfield Summer opening event | Smithfield Hanley | Sat 2 August

Smithfield Summer - which launches on Saturday 2 August - is free-to-attend and will have various children's activities - including kite flying and a big family BBQ - taking place on dedicated weekends.

For the opening event, local musician Ash Wall and his band SCRATCH, will be performing in the public realm of the Smithfield development, plus there will be food vendors located near to the urban beach - such as Scrumbles, GGs kitchen and Really Truly Scrumptious Sweets offering tasty delights such as Greek Chicken, oatcakes, cakes and more.

Climate Cafe | B-Arts 64-72 Hartshill Road, Stoke | Sat 2 August

Head down to B-Arts on Saturday from 10am-2pm for the Climate Cafe featuring activities such as clothes, toys and book swap; a sewing activity as part of new project Threads of Stoke on Trent, paper making, make an edible beach desert and so much more.

Lemmy Encore | Market Place, Burslemmy | Sun 3 August

There is a Lemmy Encore event on Sunday, organised by Lemmy Forever from 2pm in Burslem.

Visitors can expect a scooter and bike rally, art and photo exhibition plus lots of live entertainment.

There will also be an afterparty at Grumpy's bar with "guest stars".

Raku - art & alchemy workshop | Middleport Pottery | Sun 3 August

You have seen it on The Great Pottery Throw Down now try it for yourself.

Raku is one of the most fascinating techniques within creative ceramics originating from 16th century Japan.

Andy Mason will host this one-day workshop. Each timeslot is divided into two sessions at 10am and 1:30pm. Tea, coffee and cake is also included in the £40 ticket price.

Lamplight concerts | Stoke Minster | 26 Sept

Tickets are on sale now for Lamplight concerts on 26 September - an exciting partnership between Social Connective CIC and the City of Stoke-on-Trent Symphony Orchestra.

The setting is the awe-inspiring Stoke Minster, one of Stoke-on-Trent's most beautiful cultural landmarks.

These unique musical experiences will reimagine iconic hits from the movies, and 70s and 80s, brought to life by the rich, emotive sound of a live string quartet.
