Keele University expands legal advice clinic offering with new partnership
By The Editor 5th Mar 2026
Keele University's 'pioneering approach' to offering free legal advice to help those in need, while training the next generation of legal professionals, has taken another step forward with the launch of a new clinic in partnership with a respected legal firm.
The university has a long history of providing pro bono legal support to the community, through its established Legal Advice Clinics and CLOCK programme.
Now, the provision is expanding with the launch of a new legal advice clinic, focused on personal injury law, in partnership with Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors.
The initiative will provide members of the local community with access to free legal advice in personal injury matters, while also creating valuable hands‑on learning opportunities for Keele law students.
Sarah Askey, Supervising Solicitor from Keele University, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Hodge Jones & Allen to expand the services offered through our Legal Advice Clinic.
"This collaboration provides our students with a valuable opportunity to develop practical skills in personal injury law while working under the supervision of experienced practitioners.
"Ensuring that our students gain authentic, supervised experience is central to our commitment to delivering an outstanding legal education, and I am pleased that this partnership will also enhance the support we can offer to members of our community."
The students working in the clinic will be trained and supervised by Daniel Denton, a Personal Injury Partner at Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors.
Keele students will have the opportunity to observe real cases in action and provide supervised advice, enhancing their understanding of personal injury and strengthening their practical skills.
Through the clinic, members of the public who may otherwise be unable to access legal advice, can book an appointment that will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams. Members of the public can contact the clinic to arrange a 30-minute meeting, after which they will receive a letter of advice.
Daniel Denton from Hodge Jones & Allen, said: "I'm looking forward to partnering with the talented students at Keele University, providing members of the local community with access to justice as we work to benefit society at large.
"I believe it is important to continue to raise the visibility of important personal injury claims and make them more accessible to those who need help in understanding their full legal rights.
"Exposing students to real-life cases will also be invaluable to will provide them with key skills that will complement their studies."
