Tales in the Park | Burslem | Fri 14 Aug
The National Literacy Trust is inviting families to Burslem Park on Friday 14 August for the return of Tales in the Park.
The free event will take place between 11am and 3pm featuring storytelling sessions, circus skills, bouncy castles and free books donated by Harper Collins.
The organisers said: "Taking place in parks across the six towns of Stoke-on-Trent, Tales in the Park is free for all Stoke families to attend and there will be something for everyone to enjoy."
The Potteries Folk Club Summer Showcase | Fenton Town Hall | Fri 14 Aug
The Potteries Folk Club will be hosting the second summer showcase evening on Friday 14 August.
The orgnaisers said: "This July and August, we're delighted to present our summer showcase evenings — and we can't quite believe how lucky we are to have such a high-quality line-up of acts visiting the folk club."
Doors open at 7.15pm for a 7.45pm start.
Tickets are available online for £9.38 (including booking fee).

Celebrating our Community Service | Stoke Minster | Sun 16 Aug
The work of community groups and volunteers in Stoke-on-Trent will celebrated at a Sunday afternoon service at Stoke Minster at 4pm on Sunday 16th August.
The informal service of readings and music is planned as a thank-you for all the devoted work of local charities, community groups and volunteers, and will be followed by the opportunity to socialise over tea and home-made cake.
"The volunteers who keep Stoke Minster going are worth their weight in gold and deserve a thank-you," said Revd Alison Thomas, priest at Stoke Minster.
Admission is free and donations in aid of the Friends of Stoke Minster charity are welcome.
Castle Artisan Market | Barlaston | Sun 16 Aug
The Castle Artisan Market will return to The Stones on Sunday 16 August from 10am to 3pm.
The market will showcase street food, handmade gifts, ceramics and homewares.
The organisers said: "Castle Artisan Market is back at The Stones this August, bringing a proper feel-good mix of local creativity, delicious food and community spirit to the heart of Newcastle-under-Lyme."
They added: "Every stall tells a story. Every purchase supports a small business. Every market day helps keep our town centre buzzing."
Entry is free and there is free parking available on council-owned car parks.
