A section of a major Stoke-on-Trent road will close for around four days whilst Severn Trent Water carry out "comm pipe renewal".

Princes Road will be closed between Hartshill Road and Queens Road from 8am on 20 January to 5pm on 23 January.

Traffic will be diverted via Newcastle Lane, Hilton Road, Albany Road, The Avenue and back onto Hartshill Road.

A diversion route will be in place whilst the works are carried out (One.Network).

A temporary traffic regulation order reads: "Notice is hereby given that Stoke-on-Trent City Council intend to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act, 1991, the effect of which will be to prohibit the driving of any vehicle along Princes Road between Hartshill Road and Queens Road.

"The order is to allow for the completion of a long comm pipe renewal and will come into operation on Monday 20th January 2025 to Thursday 23rd January 2025 or until the works it is proposed to carry out are completed, whichever is the earlier."
