Roadworks set to shut this Hanley street from next week

A Stoke-on-Trent city centre street is set to be shut for 11 days from next week as 'essential' water repairs get underway.
Severn Trent will be carrying out repairs to the sewer system, which runs under Hope Street in Hanley, from 25 August to 5 September.
Hope Street will be closed for the duration of the works and the one-way system on Sampson Street will also be reversed to allow motorists to divert.
A Severn Trent spokesperson said: "We have a team scheduled to make an essential repair to a sewer which runs under Hope Street.
"Due to the location of the works and to keep our team and road users safe, we will be working under a road closure.
"We know how disruptive roadworks can be, and we would like to reassure everyone that we'll be working as quickly and safely as possible to minimise any inconvenience.
"We would like to thank everyone for their patience in advance."
The works on the sewers are required to "stop flooding", according to the traffic regulation order submitted to the city council.
Pedestrian access to Hope Street will remain unaffected by the roadworks and access to businesses will be maintained "as far as possible".
