Approximately five weeks of roadworks begin today as a one way system is introduced on a Stoke-on-Trent road.
Stoke-on-Trent Highways has announced that work will begin to implement the highway improvement scheme at Aylesbury Road, Bentilee from today (Monday 16 March).
The works are expected to last for approximately five weeks.
A one way system is set to be introduced along the full length of Aylesbury Road.
The kerb lines will be adjusted to prevent exit onto Beverley Drive and prevent entry onto Winchester Avenue.
Stoke-on-Trent Highways explained that the one-way system aims to "avoid issues with two way traffic trying to pass each other causing delays and disruption".
Another "community-driven update" includes a safer crossing point for children and parents to access St Maria Goretti Academy.
Temporary traffic management will be in place and access to residents will be maintained.
A spokesperson for Stoke-on-Trent Highways said: "We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period and ask all road users to follow signage and instructions provided for your safety and to minimise disruption."
