Proposal for 822 solar panels on roof of Stoke-on-Trent industrial unit

An application for the installation of 822 solar panels on the roof of a Meir industrial unit has been published.
Submitted earlier this month, the proposal would see six blocks of solar panels installed on the roof of the unit, two rows of four panels and four rows of five.
They will be installed at a building used by Mobile Water Solutions, who supply emergency waste water treatment services.
The roof mounted solar panels will have a total installed capacity of 373Wp and residents have until March 7 2025 to submit to the consultation.
The application states: "The installation of 822No. roof mounted solar PV panels of total installed capacity 374kWp.
The solar PV equipment will be, so far as practicable, be sited so as to minimise its effect on the external appearance of the building and the amenity of the area.
"The solar PV equipment will be removed as soon as reasonably practicable when no longer needed."
The application also says that the panels will be clamped to extruded aluminium mounting rails.
The plans are awaiting approval.
