St Teresa's Catholic Primary School, in Trent Vale, has applied for an extension to provide more pupil places (LDRS).

A Stoke-on-Trent primary school could be extended to provide more places for pupils. A new hall and classrooms are proposed as part of the expansion of St Teresa's Catholic Primary School, Trent Vale.

If the plans are approved by Stoke-on-Trent City Council the new facilities will enable the school to increase pupil places to provide two forms of entry, instead of the current 1.5 forms, a planning statement said. But there are "limited options" in terms of building extensions because of the constraints of the site.

The statement submitted as part of the application said: "It is proposed to locate the main new build extension to the south-west of the existing school. A smaller extension is proposed to the central /east part of site to facilitate internal alterations.

In total three new classrooms would be constructed at the school off Stone Road, Trent Vale (Google).

"These new areas of construction will provide an assembly hall; the existing hall will be allocated as the secondary dining and performance area. Additional toilets and support space will be provided to the south-west corner of the school.

"In total three new classrooms will be constructed. These classrooms will be at the nursery/foundation end of the school.

"A new 46 space satellite car park is to be created to the north of the adjacent playing field land. This land is to be provided by the local authority.

"The new car park will be used primarily for school drop off and pick up. This will greatly benefit vehicle movement at the busiest times of the day."
