Port Vale FC are set to face Crewe Alexandra next week at Vale Park but have not been able to offer Crewe supporters full capacity of the away stand for 'operational reasons'.

The Valiants will go head-to-head with Crewe Alex on Tuesday 29 August for the first time since Vale's 1-0 win back in 2019.

Although the Bycars Stand has capacity for around 3,000 supporters, the club only offered 1,031 tickets to Crewe Alex fans and these quickly sold out.

Crewe Alex asked for an additional allocation of tickets due to high demand but Port Vale have been unable to grant this request.

A spokesperson for Port Vale FC told Stoke Nub News: "We are unable to offer more tickets due to operational reasons that Crewe are aware and understanding of".

Stoke Nub News has approached the club for more information.
