A popular market stall has recently relocated from Hanley to Tunstall Market for its "friendlier and more traditional" feel.

The Smoking Shack was located in Hanley Market, underneath The Potteries Centre, for just over a year but found that footfall was decreasing in the city centre.

Owners Matt Crompton and Stacey Rigby moved their popular smoking accessories shop into Tunstall Market at the end of June and say they "love the place" so far.

The couple also recently opened a mobile coffee business, Caffeine Fix 2 Go, which travels around Stoke-on-Trent serving a range of hot drinks.

The Smoking Shack sell a full range of smoking accessories including a 420 range (Nub News).

Matt told Stoke Nub News: "Compared to during Covid-19, footfall had really increased in Hanley, but we wanted to try something different and we chose Tunstall because it's award-winning.

"Tunstall is a lovely, friendly market, it's so lovely to be here, and by the second day of being here, people were popping in just to say hello.

"Hanley has the potential to be a fantastic city centre, we just wanted to take the business into different places to see what works but I'd love to see Tunstall do as well as Longton or Hanley for example.

"Also what I love about this market is that as well as your standard meat and vegetable shops, you also have unusual businesses selling a real range of products - such as personalised gifts."

Tunstall Market is open three days a week and hosts over 60 different stalls (Nub News).

The Smoking Shack prides itself on its personable approach - Matt says he is "more than happy" to give advice or even buy in products for shoppers.

Tunstall Market hosts over 60 stalls and is open every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm.
