Popeyes announces Stoke-on-Trent opening date

Popeyes is set to open its first Stoke-on-Trent restaurant later this month.
Signs went up for the new restaurant at the old Pizza Hut unit on Festival Park earlier this month and now the US fried chicken brand as announced when it is set to open.
The restaurant will open at 11am on Friday 26 September with giveaways and prizes for the first customers through the door.
A spokesperson for the fast food chain said: "We're looking forward to opening our very first Popeyes in Staffordshire, located at the popular Festival Retail Park in Stoke-on-Trent.
"It's a fantastic location and we're excited to introduce our famous Louisiana chicken and New Orleans hospitality to the local community for the first time."
The website page for the Stoke-on-Trent branch says: "Coming soon y'all. We're Popeyes, home of the famous Louisiana Chicken Sandwich.
"A freshly made crispy wonder that was SO damn delicious we sold out across America - traffic stopped. Queues formed. It broke the internet!"
The first three customers through the door on the opening day will receive free chicken sandwiches for a year, the first 50 will receive exclusive Popeyes merchandise and the first 100 will get a free chicken sandwich.
Popeyes was founded in New Orleans in 1972 and now operates more than 4,000 restaurants globally.
This year the company announced ambitious plans to open nearly one site a week over the course of 2025 in a bid to double its nationwide footprint.
