Officers from Staffordshire Police are investigating the theft of a pink mobility scooter in Stoke-on-Trent.

The pink 'Vortox' scooter was stolen from outside a property near Park Road in Burslem on Saturday 17 May at 8am and was found a short time later in an alleyway before being stolen again by 11am.

Officers believed the scooter had been abandoned at Ford Green Nature Reserve but they were unable to locate it.

Staffordshire Police is now appealing for anyone with information or sightings of the scooter to get in touch with them.

PC Lily Roberts, from Stoke North local policing team, said the victim lives with a disability and the scooter is "her form of independence and freedom".

PC Roberts urged the scooter be returned to the owner, adding, "The scooter is bright pink with knitted pink arm rests and is very distinctive, so we hope someone will remember seeing it."

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the scooter can get in touch with police by calling 101, or via Live Chat on the Staffordshire Police website, quoting incident number 318 of 17 May.
