Police name women who died in Cheadle on New Years' Eve

The two women who died in Cheadle on New Years' Eve have now been named by police.

Karen Wilshaw, 63, and her mother Joyce Wilshaw, 91, were both found unresponsive with significant injuries at a house on Park Lane, Cheadle, at approximately 3pm.

Despite the efforts of paramedics and officers, both women were pronounced dead at approximately 3.50pm. 

A 68-year-old man has been released under investigation (Nub News).

A 68-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of two counts of murder, has been released under investigation while enquiries continue. 

Detectives continue to investigate and are keeping an open mind regarding the circumstances leading up to the women's deaths.
