Police name man killed in Wolstanton crash

Staffordshire Police has named a man who died following a crash in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Steven Field, 40, from Stoke-on-Trent died following a single-vehicle crash, involving a white Skoda Octavia, on High Street in Wolstanton just before 2:10am on Sunday (15 June).

Brave passers-by went to Steven's aid along with the West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Police but he died at the scene.

The force says Steven's family are being supported by specialist officers at this time.

A 27-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme and a 26-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Staffordshire Police wants to speak to anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, or those with any information that could help collision investigators.
