Police launch appeal after ‘group of men with weapons’ spotted in Stoke-on-Trent

Police are appealing for information after a group of men with weapons were seen in Longton. 

Officers were called at 5.45pm on Saturday (11 May) to reports of a group of men with weapons on Rochester Road. 

Firearms officers attended and a 25-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. He is in custody being questioned by detectives. 

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Were you in the area of Rochester Road, Longley Road or Edgefield Road at around 5.45pm yesterday? 

"There is an increased police presence in the area today to offer reassurance to the local community. 

"If you have any information, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage that could help, please contact us on 101 quoting incident 670 of 12 May."
