Staffordshire Police is investigating after two shots were fired into a Stoke-on-Trent address in what they believe is a "targeted incident".

At 12.05am this morning (Thursday 11 June), officers were called to Barrett Drive in Cobridge following a report of a firearm being used.

Staffordshire Police explained that officers went to the scene and found that the window of a house had been smashed.

Two bullet holes were found inside the house following a search. No one was injured.

A cordon has been put in place in the area as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Forensic officers are examining the scene and local officers are carrying out house to house enquiries, reviewing CCTV and progressing a number of enquiries to find out more.

"At this stage, we believe the incident to be targeted. Those involved have been safeguarded.

"We believe the suspects may have been travelling in a white car at the time of the incident."
