Police appeal for information after body found in Stoke

A body has been found following a fire on Shelton Old Road, Stoke-on-Trent, yesterday (Google).

Staffordshire Police are appealing for information after a body was discovered following an outbuilding fire in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called to the property on Shelton Old Road at around 7.55pm yesterday (7 March) following reports of a fire.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

The fire was quickly extinguished by fire crews but sadly, a body was found inside the outbuilding.

Formal identification will take place in due course.

Police are currently working to identify their next of kin and establish the circumstances of the fire.

Anyone with any information or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage which could help police understand the circumstances leading up to the fire are asked to get in touch.
