Police are appealing for information after a woman was found dead in Stoke-on-Trent.
The woman, in her 40s, was found at an address on Ridgway Road at around 4.10pm on Wednesday 17 December after officers responded to a report of concern for welfare.
The woman's next of kin has been informed.
Staffordshire Police said: "Detectives are keeping an open mind about the cause of death and are currently treating the incident as unexplained.
"A scene has been setup for forensic examination and door to door enquiries are now taking place to try and establish the circumstances surrounding her death."
Anyone who has any information about the incident has been asked to call 101, quoting incident number 490 of 17 December, or to anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
