Plans to reopen a grade II listed building in Stoke-on-Trent have been submitted to the local council.
Mr Zamir has applied for permission to reopen St John's Church, in Hanley, as a place of worship and community facility.
The site is currently vacant and was last used as a venue for antique sales and cafe in 2020.
The form of worship taking place would be Islamic and prayer sessions would take place five times daily.
Space on the ground floor would be made available on a daily basis for people of all or no faith for lectures, conferences, or school visits.
No changes to the building or parking facilities are proposed as part of the plans.
A design and access heritage statement submitted as part of the application states: "The proposed use would return the building to its original and intended use i.e. as a place of worship and for community purposes.
"This would be a completely logical and appropriate reuse which will enable this historic and important building to once again serve the area as a cultural and community asset."
A decision is expected regarding these plans in the coming months.
