Plans to demolish a former newsagents in Longton have been submitted to Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
The three-storey building, on Caroline Street, is in a poor state, the roof has collapsed and windows have been boarded up.
The applicant, Mr Mohammed Saeed, says an excavator would be used to break down the external walls and the site would be flattened, with fencing erected around it.
If permission is granted, demolition work would start on 29 May and the pavement would be temporarily closed for no more than one week.
A decision has not yet been made regarding these plans.
