Plans for a brand-new, two-storey block of flats in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, have been submitted to the local council.

Pawley Properties Ltd has applied for permission to build a block of flats comprising of four one-bedroom units, associated gardens, communal facilities and parking on vacant land on Warrington Street.

The building will be predominately red brick with a clay tiled roof, and eight parking spaces are proposed for the site (four car spaces and four cycle spaces).

A design and access statement, submitted as part of the application, states: "The proposed scheme provides private rear gardens to the ground floor apartments, flats one and two, that are 25sqm and 30sqm respectively.

The building would have four one-bedroom flats, communal facilities and parking (Nub News).

"These generous gardens are directly accessible from the living spaces of the flats, and provide high quality amenity space to prospective residents.

"This is an improvement on the previously refused scheme which located living spaces of the ground floor flats at the front of the property, disconnected from the associated gardens.

"The upper floor apartments, flats three and four, have access to a 20sqm shared garden at the side of the building that will benefit from morning and evening sun.

A total of eight parking spaces are also proposed for the site (Nub News).

"The garden is fenced off, providing privacy and security, and is proposed with areas of planting and seating.

"Views out from the garden towards Stanier Street provide a pleasant outlook of the large trees at the junction between Warrington Street and Stanier Street."

A decision is expected regarding these plans in the coming months.
