Plans for a drive-thru Wrights store in Stoke have been put on hold.

Wrights bought land off Leek New Road, Cobridge, in 2021 with plans to build their first store complete with drive-thru facilities.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council approved the plans and billboards started to appear on the site advertising the drive-thru.

But two years later, there has been no progress with the new store.

Wrights have recently struck a deal with Tesco for its chicken balti pies which are now in more than 200 stores (Sarah Garner).

The firm said it is focusing on its key provision of its high street stores and suppling products into hospitality and retail.

Wrights currently have 15 retail outlets across Stoke-on-Trent including in Longton, Stoke Town Centre, Shelton, Burslem, Hanley and Fenton.
