Plans for a brand-new laundrette and flats on Tunstall High Street have been rejected by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

In August, Mr F. Mubarak of Limitless Investment & Properties Ltd applied for permission to transform 100-104 High Street, Tunstall, into a laundrette with two one-bedroom studio flats on the first floor.

A decision notice, published by the council on Friday 6 October, states: "The Council has considered this application and hereby refuses planning permission for the development".

The council rejected the plans due to concerns about the poor quality design of the living accommodation (Nub News).

One of the reasons listed by the local authority is "the poor quality design of the living accommodation, in terms of the lack of any private amenity space (including bin storage) is considered to have an adverse impact on residential amenity for future occupants.

"Furthermore, the proposals fail to demonstrate that the proposed ground floor use would not have a detrimental impact on residential amenity for the future first floor residents."
