Plans have been submitted to Stoke-on-Trent City Council to install a brand-new 5G mast with associated equipment cabinets outside a local high school.

Cignal Infrastructure UK are currently in the process of supporting the government's Digital Connectivity objective by providing improved 5G coverage and capacity.

The company has applied for permission to install a 5G mast outside Ormiston Meridian Academy on Sandon Road in Meir.

A decision is expected regarding these plans in the coming weeks (Cignal Infrastructure UK).

The application form states: "There is an acute need for a new base station to provide effective service coverage and in this case, the height of the proposed street pole is the minimum required to bring the benefits of 5G to this area."

A decision is expected regarding these plans in the coming weeks.
