Pedestrian dies following tractor crash in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has died following a crash in Stoke-on-Trent involving a tractor and a pedestrian.

Staffordshire Police was called just after 8.20am today (Wednesday 5 August) to Shelton New Road in Cliffe Vale following reports of a collision.

West Midlands Ambulance Service and Midlands Air Ambulance also attended the scene.

Staffordshire Police said the pedestrian, a man, was taken to hospital by ambulance and was pronounced dead a short time later.

His next of kin have been informed.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "The driver of the tractor stayed at the scene to help us with our enquiries.

"Anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage should call us on 101 quoting incident number 186 of 5 August.

"You can also get in touch with collision investigators directly by emailing [email protected]"
