A Newcastle-under-Lyme pub is set to temporarily close for refurbishments following a "six-figure investment".

The Cherry Tree, on London Road, part of the pub company and brewer Greene King, will temporarily close from Monday 3 August for renovation works, with the revamped venue set to reopen its doors at the end of the month.

A spokesperson for Greene King said: "The Cherry Tree, a family-friendly pub in Newcastle-under-Lyme, is due to unveil a new look and feel this summer following a six-figure investment."

Key features of the investment at the Hungry Horse pub include a full interior refresh with new furniture, décor and the creation of a more open-plan layout in the bar and dining areas.

The pub's function space is also due to undergo significant investment to accommodate larger events and celebrations, while the pub's toilets will be fully refurbished.

Following the pub's official relaunch, the Cherry Tree will be offering an enhanced food and drinks range.

Guests can browse menus and book ahead ready for reopening via the Greene King app.

Greene King is also currently hiring new team members at the Cherry Tree with multiple opportunities available.
