A 31-year-old man has been charged with numerous offences after a man was allegedly assaulted inside a supermarket in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Ryan Linyard, of Crackley, Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been charged with Section 18 – grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker.

It comes after Staffordshire Police was called to Lower Milehouse Lane at 9.10pm on Saturday 13 December following reports of an assault.
