Newcastle man jailed for more than 11 years for sexual offences
A man has been jailed for more than 11 years after he admitted a series of sexual offences in Staffordshire.
Paul Ashley, 56, of Newcastle-under-Lyme, was sentenced to a combined sentence of 11-years-and-nine-months behind bars at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Thursday (23 January) on four counts of sexual activity with a mentally disordered female and four counts of sexual assault on a female.
He was also put on the Sex Offenders Register for life and issued with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Detective Sergeant Becky Mulcahy, from the public protection unit, said: "I'm pleased that Ashley has been punished for his heinous crimes and put behind bars.
"We're determined to keep working hard across Staffordshire to take robust action against the people responsible for sexual crimes and to support survivors as much as possible.
"I hope results like this show how determined officers are to seek justice for victims and to help them take action against those who have subjected them to abuse."
