A new retailer could be "coming soon" to the site of a former Stoke-on-Trent Wilko store.

A poster has appeared outside the former Wilko in Longton hinting that Boyes could be opening a new store at the location.

The discount homewares retailer – with over 80 stores across the UK – is advertising job vacancies for the new store, which is "coming soon" according to the poster.

The retailer is advertising job vacancies for a full-time store manager and store supervisor as well as part-time assistant supervisors and sales assistants.

The poster says: "Boyes was established in 1881 and we now have over 80 stores.

"We are still very much a family run business, with strong family values. With over 30,000 products, working for us can be an interesting and rewarding career."

The Wilko store in Longton closed in September 2023.

The possible new location comes after Boyes opened another Staffordshire store in Burton-on-Trent in May this year.

Boyes has not yet confirmed an opening date for the Stoke-on-Trent store.

Nub News has approached Boyes for comment.
