New Stoke-on-Trent takeaway combines Indian and Mexican cuisine

A new takeaway has opened in Stoke-on-Trent combining Indian cuisine with Mexican-inspired dishes.
Chiniot officially opened its doors on Pall Mall in Hanley earlier this month.
"We wanted to create a place where people can enjoy the best of both worlds — the spices and traditions of Indian cuisine alongside the bold flavours of Mexican food," said Chiniot owner Ali Raza.
The takeaway offers dishes ranging from biryani and street food favourite, gol gappey, to peri peri chicken.
Ali explained that he hopes Chiniot will provide variety to the high street and create a welcoming atmosphere for the local community.
"My office is on Piccadilly, and I was sick of eating the same chips every day," Ali said.
He added: "I thought the people who are working on the high street should have another option, where they can eat a proper meal at a cheaper price."
Ali, alongside his partner Romana Akbar, now run three businesses in Hanley and are keen to see the town centre busy and full of successful local businesses.
He said: "Hanley is the city centre and we want it to revive and be as it used to be."
"I just want this city to thrive," Ali – who moved to Stoke-on-Trent from London – added.
Chiniot is now open on Pall Mall, Hanley.
