Mystery as to why a car was abandoned on a Stoke-on-Trent field

Staffordshire Police is appealing for information after a heavily damaged car was abandoned on a Stoke-on-Trent playing field.
The dark blue 4x4, was spotted on football fields off Chell Heath Road on Tuesday morning (15 April) and first reported to police at around 6:25am but when officers went to investigate the vehicle was gone.
Residents living near the fields woke up to the sight out of their windows of the Land Rover on its side and heavily damaged with its windscreen and side windows shattered.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We received reports at 6.25am Tuesday (15 April) of an abandoned vehicle on football fields off Chell Heath Road, Stoke-on-Trent.
"Officers attended the scene but the vehicle had already been removed.
"Our enquiries are ongoing."
According to the DVLA website, the vehicle has been untaxed since September 2021.
