Staffordshire Police is investigating after a man suffered "serious injuries" following an assault in Stoke-on-Trent.

At about 4.05pm yesterday (Monday 15 June), officers were called to Werrington Road in Bucknall, outside The Travellers Rest, following a report of a fight.

Officers found one man lying on the floor who had reportedly been assaulted by two men and a woman.

Staffordshire Police said that the suspects then got into a car and left the scene.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Officers moved the victim out of the road and tended to his injuries before paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service arrived."

"He has since been taken to hospital with injuries that are believed to be serious."

An investigation has been launched and Staffordshire Police has asked anyone who saw what happened or who might have information that can help them, to call 101 or use Live Chat on the website, quoting incident 530 of 15 June.

To report anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
