A man has been jailed after he stole more than £500-worth of goods in Stoke-on-Trent.
Shawn Doolan, 41, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 33-weeks behind bars at Cannock Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (22 October).
He pleaded guilty to five counts of theft from a shop, three counts of breaching a criminal behaviour order (CBO), two counts of theft from the person of another, and one count of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.
Doolan stole £534 worth of goods from two victims and three shops in Stoke-on-Trent between 22 March and 12 September.
On Thursday 11 and Friday 12 September, he entered Home Bargains in Etruria three times, a shop which his CBO prevented him from entering.
PC Graham Spiller, of the City Intervention Team, said: "We do not underestimate the impact that Doolan's offending had on his victims and local businesses and I hope this sentencing shows that we will take robust action against those responsible.
"Since we introduced proactive hotspot patrols earlier this year, we have been able to reduce shoplifting incidents and improve safety in areas with high footfall and I would encourage residents to report any issues to us."
