A man has been jailed over drug supply offences after officers discovered class A drugs and cash, worth a combined total of more than £80,000, at a property in Hartshill.

Yusuf Rahman, 29, of Trafalgar Road, Hartshill, was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Wednesday (14 December) to 40 months in jail after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin) and possession of criminal property at an earlier hearing.

The court heard how officers carried out a search warrant at an address in Hartshill just after 9.20am on Thursday (22 September).

Officers found and seized a plastic bag containing class A drugs, worth more than £30,000.

£60,000 in cash was then found in a sports bag, metal tin and hidden three individual trainers.

Rahman was caught hiding cash inside his trainers (Staffordshire Police).

Mobile phones and scales were also seized by officers.

PC Lucas Hackney, of Disruptions Team North at Staffordshire Police, said: "Rahman was clearly hiding the profits of his criminality and was determine to prevent us from finding out about his stash.

"We are happy he has been handed a custodial sentence and that a significant amount of drugs have been taken off our streets.

"We will continue to investigate the supply and circulation of illegal drugs within our county and bring those responsible to justice."
