A man has sadly been found dead at a train station in Stoke-on-Trent this morning (17 January).

Emergency services were called to Longport Station just before 7am and all train lines were closed for around three hours.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Two ambulances and two paramedic officers were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a man.

"Sadly, it quickly became clear he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene."

All train lines have now reopened although National Rail is warning passengers that some services may be delayed by up to 90 minutes.
