A man has been convicted of drug offences after cannabis was found growing in a business unit in Stoke-on-Trent.
Steven Phillip Kennedy, of Chell Heath, appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Friday (23 January).
The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to permitting the production on premises of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis, and possessing a controlled drug of class B – cannabis.
Staffordshire Police officers forced entry to a business unit in Heron Cross following intelligence of cannabis being grown in November 2025.
They found around 90 small plants in a room on the first floor.
Kennedy was arrested after being identified as the occupant of the unit.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "When Kennedy was interviewed in custody, he admitted that he knew that a room in his business unit was being used to grow cannabis but would not tell us who was responsible.
"We are committed to disrupting the production and supply of cannabis across Stoke-on-Trent and wider Staffordshire."
Kennedy is due to be sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Thursday 5 March.
