Man charged after three police officers assaulted in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been charged following an assault on three police officers and a member of the public in Stoke-on-Trent.

Kia Cox, 33, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with one count of assault by beating of an emergency worker, two of intentional strangulation and one of assault.

This comes after police were called to reports of a disturbance at a house near Corporation Street, Stoke, at 12.20am yesterday (11 July).

Kia Cox, 33, will appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Nub News).

Three police officers and a man, in his 50s, were injured. All three officers went to hospital and have been discharged. The man also went to hospital for treatment.

Cox is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Friday 12 July).
