Man arrested after 'threatening customers with a small knife' in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been arrested following reports of a man making threats with a box-cutting knife in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called just before 8.15pm on 5 August to reports of a man threatening customers with a small knife at McDonalds in Hanley.

Nobody was reported injured.

Officers searched a man in the area who was found in possession of a Stanley knife and a pair of scissors.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place and affray.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
