Major takeaway chain submits plans for new branch in Stoke-on-Trent
A major takeaway chain will open another branch in Stoke-on-Trent, if plans are approved by the city council.
Hertford Health has submitted a planning application for the "change of use of retail shop to hot food takeaway" at a vacant unit on Riley's Court, High Street, Sandyford.
A Planning Statement reveals that the unit would operate as Dominos - the pizza takeaway - allowing the relocation of the existing branch on High Street, Tunstall.
The Planning Statement continues: "The application site has remained vacant since its construction, completed in 2022 leaving a dead frontage and not contributing to the character and appearance of the area. As such the proposed change of use will deliver an active use and frontage in Riley's Court, encouraging footfall and generating employment.
"Indeed, the proposed development will create approximately 25 no. employment opportunities for local people, producing a contribution to local employment levels and benefiting the local economy.
"The site benefits from off-street parking directly to the south, which is shared by all 4 commercial units. It provides approximately 62 no. unrestricted parking spaces, including 4 no. disabled, 3 no. parent and child and 4 no. cycle parking spaces in Sheffield style racks."
The new takeaway would employ ten full-time employees and 15 part-time employees and operate 9am to 11pm every day.
The full planning application can be viewed here.
