M6 northbound near Stoke-on-Trent reopen after 'serious' collision

The M6 was closed again on Friday evening following a serious crash near Stoke-on-Trent.
Emergency services were at the scene on the M6 northbound between junction 15 for Stoke-on-Trent and junction 16 for Crewe.
The new closure came after the southbound carriageway was closed on Thursday night until 3pm today (Friday) following a fatal collision involving a car and a HGV.
Friday evening's closure on the M6 northbound between junction 15 and 16 began shortly after 8pm until 11:25pm.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: "The M6 in Staffordshire is closed northbound between J15 (Stoke-on-Trent) and J16 (Crewe) following a serious collision.
"All emergency services including Staffordshire Police are in attendance.
"National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management."
Staffordshire Police said: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on the M6 and the northbound side is closed between junctions 15 and 16 (Stoke-on-Trent)."
