A Church Lawton-based writer and show producer is seeing his latest offering delight audiences at the New Vic in Staffordshire.

For several years, David Graham who splits his time between Church Lawton and London, has seen his loveable rogue 'Eric' take to the stage and this year is no different.

Previously, David described the character Eric, about who he wrote the book 'Eight Days a Week' as 'a bit like a northern version of Del Boy and Rodney'.

"He's everything you wouldn't want a man to be," joked David.

This year, 'Eric' takes on a Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice a 60s shaped makeover which finishes at the New Vic tomorrow Saturday (December 9th).

The musical comedy is based on one of the most romantic novels of all time. Mrs Bennett is more concerned than ever about marrying off her five daughters.

Her husband, stricken with a stomach bug which keeps him out of her way for prolonged periods, holds many a conversation with his wife from the safety of the bathroom and agrees to a Grand Christmas Ball to which Mrs Bennett intends to invite every eligible male in the area, including a newcomer, Eric Arcy, who no-one has yet seen. He sounds the ideal match for her daughter, Elizabeth – but this is Eric!

Complicated relationships and the interference of Arcy's two friends, Mr Bingley and Mr Bradford, make matters worse as the guest list turns out to be a little stranger than Mrs Bennett had first imagined.

It's filled with sensational 60s songs, dancing, laughter, and fun – is the very best way to kick start your festive season. With a big cast, plenty of surprises and some special guests, join 'Eric' for Christmas this year!

Stoke Nub News' sister site, Alsager Nub News, interviewed David Graham last year here about his work and his love for both the theatre and music.

Tickets for this year's performance are priced from £23.00-£29.50. For more information and to book, call the Box Office on 01782 717962 or visit the New Vic theatre's website.
