Local woman arrested following flat fire in Newcastle-under-Lyme

A woman has been arrested following a fire at a flat in Newcastle-under-Lyme this morning (5 September).

Staffordshire Police were called just before 4.15am to an address on Dunkirk and went to the scene with colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters and no one was injured.

Thankfully, nobody was injured in the fire (Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service).

A 29-year-old woman, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was then arrested on suspicion of arson and remains in custody.

The force is asking anyone with any information, particularly those with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area at the time, to get in touch.
