Part of the A50 through Stoke-on-Trent is currently closed around Longton (westbound) and there are queues heading back to Meir Park.

An eyewitness told Nub News that the road is also down to one lane (eastbound) around Normacot due to a lorry losing its load on the carriageway. This is causing huge delays back to Sideway roundabout.

Part of the A50 is currently closed westbound (Nub News).

An AA report says: "Partially blocked due to shed load on A50 Eastbound at A5005 Lightwood Road (Longton/Dresden turnoff).

"Congestion to the Sideway Roundabout. Westbound is back to the Meir Tunnel due to the onlookers. A lorry has shed a load onto the road."

Stoke Nub News has approached Staffordshire Police for more information.
