A lane on a section of the A53 in Stoke-on-Trent has been closed due to a "collapsed wall".

One lane of the A53 Etruria Road at Basford Bank is currently closed.

Drivers have been advised to allow extra time while travelling.

A spokesperson for Stoke-on-Trent City Council said: "One lane of the A53 Etruria Road at Basford Bank is currently closed after a section of retaining wall collapsed into the road.

"Traffic management is in place while our teams work to establish land ownership.

"A further inspection will take place once daylight conditions allow.

"Please allow extra time when travelling through the area."
