Detectives have launched an investigation following a series of overnight attempted burglaries in Stoke-on-Trent between 5 and 6 October.
Reports suggest that three men with balaclavas were seen acting suspiciously in the Meir Park area. They were trying door handles and walking up people's drives.
So far, 14 incidents have been reported which police think are linked to the same suspects.
The incidents happened on:
- Caraway Place
- Tarragon Drive
- Chervil Close
- Canberra Crescent
- Glaisher Drive
- Alderton Grove
- Curtiss Place
In one of the incidents, a blue Mini One was taken by a group of men at about 5.13am on Sunday (6 October) on Caraway Place.
Nothing was taken in the other incidents.
Detective Chief Inspector Adam Yates said: "We've launched an investigation into these incidents and have been progressing our enquiries at pace to identify those responsible.
"We know that burglary is an incredibly invasive crime and can have a profound impact on victims, regardless of whether anything has been taken or not.
"Anyone with any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the Meir Park area that has captured the three suspects is urged to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
"I'd like to assure local communities that specialist officers are investigating these reports robustly and using a range of tactics to proactively target those seeking to steal from residents and businesses across Staffordshire.
"We believe that the suspects involved in these incidents were prevented from stealing from various homes because of locked doors, external security lighting and visible doorbell cameras."
