Gladstone Pottery Museum, in Stoke-on-Trent, will reopen to the public in January as part of the city's Centenary celebrations.

In previous years, the museum has been closed from November to March, except for special events.

This year it will throw open its doors again from 2 January 2025, as Stoke-on-Trent celebrates 100 years since it was made a city.

And it will be a double celebration - with Gladstone Pottery Museum also marking 50 years since it was officially opened as a museum.

The extended opening means visitors to the museum will have the chance to explore the city's ceramic heritage throughout January, February and March.

Gladstone Pottery Museum is also celebrating 50 years since it was officially opened as a museum (Nub News).

They can also look forward to a series of exciting events, including pottery workshops and exclusive Connoisseur Tours.

Councillor Jane Ashworth, leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: "My administration is committed to making the most of our fantastic museums – improving access for visitors and launching a £5 million transformation project at the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery. Gladstone Pottery Museum is a real gem in our city's cultural heritage.

"It's a much-loved, award-winning visitor attraction and heritage site that welcomes around 3,000 visitors a month.

"The early opening in 2025 is a fantastic way to celebrate both our Centenary and the museum's 50th anniversary.

"The museum attracts visitors from across the globe, and it's great that we're able to offer extended access during this special year.

"If you've never been before, why not make the time in 2025 to come out and support our local attractions and see what's on offer."
